Our Story
We are Ross and Melinda McCord of Limelight Gardens.
Married for 25 years, both of us growing up in rural Kanata, then finding our place in Kinburn. Building a business, and raising our boys, both now in their 20s, they have shown an interest in carrying on our passions to the next generation.
Limelight Gardens grew from a dream to reality over COVID. The 1897 schoolhouse on our property transformed into a workspace for seed starting. My dream of a potting shed came to reality and the idea of offering cut flower arrangements took off. The lawn areas were transformed to allow for more beds, allowing us to offer a greater variety of cut flowers. New soil and irrigation lines have been installed for a higher chance of success. With the love of old and crusty the vision of my farm stand was created. Mable stands tall at the end of the lane marking our slice of happiness. With our second season coming to a close our focus changes to planning and preparing for the next year. Lessons have been learned, crop failure is a reality, and the many successes keep us growing forward.
They say change is good and we sure attest to that!
Come out and visit us in the garden, we would love to show you around.
